
In an interview Jonah Hill revealed that he made $60,000 on the film (the lowest possible Screen Actors Guild rate for his amount of work), while his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio received $10 million. Danny Porush who was Jordan Belfort’s real-life partner denied there being any animals in the office.

The Wolf of Wall Street uses animals including a chimpanzee, a lion, a snake, a fish and dogs. With the beach house party scenes filmed in Sands Point, New York. Additional scenes were filmed at a set built in an abandoned office building in Ardsley, New York. Principle photography took places New York with additional filming in Closter, New Jersey and Harrison, New York. With the FBI on tracking his trading schemes it all ultimately leads to his and his business partner and friend Donnie Azoff downfall. They draw attention like no other, throwing lavish parties for their staff when they hit the jackpot on high trades. As their status grows, so do the amount of substances they abuse, and so do their lies. The storyline follows Jordan Belfort’s perspective on his career as a stockbroker in New York City and how his company Stratton Oakmont was engaged in rampant corruption and fraud on Wall Street and the corporate banking world, including shoe designer Steve Madden. The film is the fifth collaboration between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, after Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006).


It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Joanna Lumley, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau and Jean Dujardin. The screenplay was written by Terence Winter based on the memoir, The Wolf of Wall Street by former stockbroker and trader Jordan Belfort. It was co-produced by Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. The Wolf of Wall Street is 2013 film directed by Martin Scorsese.
